APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Application and prospectus can be had from the college office on payment of the prescribed fee, after the publication of the result of the examinations. The duly filled in application has to be submitted to the college office on or before the last date of receipt of application as notified by the University of Calicut.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Candidates who have passed the Plus-Two Examination of the Govt. of Kerala or equivalent alone are eligible for admission to the degree programme.
  1. B.A. Courses : Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the Higher Secondary Examination of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the BA degree courses.
  2. BMMC (Bachelor of Multimedia Communication) : Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary examination of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto with not less than 45% marks in aggregate shall be eligible to apply for admission to the BMMC programme.
  3. B.Sc. Computer Science: Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the HSE or an equivalent examination with Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Computer Application etc. as one of the subjects are eligible for admission. (U.O. No: GAI/JI/4756/1999 dated 11.01.2002)
  4. B.Sc. Mathematics:Mathematics / Statistics Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the Higher Secondary Examination or an equivalent examination with Mathematics group are eligible. Candidates who have studied Mathematics / Computer Application / Statistics etc.- with other combinations at HSE level are also eligible for admission. (U.O. No. GAI/JI/4756/1999 dated 11.01.2002)
  5. B.Sc. Physics :Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the Higher S Examination or an equivalent examination with Science subjects are eligible.
  6. B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce): A pass (eligible for higher studies) in the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent, with at least one Commerce subject, is the eligibility for admission to the BCom. degree course. Candidates who have not taken at least one Commerce subject for Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination should get at least 24 GPV (in 6 subjects) in that examination to become eligible to seek admission to B.Com course. A concession of 3 GPV will be given to OBC /OEC candidates. The SC / ST candidates need get only a pass (eligible for higher studies) (U.O.No.GAI/A2/1658/2007 dated 28.02.2008).
  7. M.A. English : The minimum marks prescribed for admission to MA in English Degree course is 45% in Part I English of B.A/ B.Sc. Examinations or 45% in English Main papers in the case of candidates with English under part III pattern I or 45% in English main papers in the case of candidates with English under part III pattern II. Candidates will be ranked according to the percentage of marks in part I English or part III in the case of those who have taken English under part III whichever is higher. A weightage of 10% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken English under part III.
  8. M.Com.: Any candidate who has passed B.Com or BBA (earlier BBS) degree of University of Calicut or B.Com., BBA or BBM or BBS degree of any other University or institution in any state recognized by UGC or AICTE with a minimum of 45%’ marks is eligible for admission to M.Com. degree course. Relaxation in the requirement of minimum marks upto 5% for OBC/OEC is applicable. SC/ST candidates need get only a pass in their qualifying examination for admission (U.O. No. GA I/J 2124/03 dated 22.07.2004).
  9. M.Sc Physics:Any candidate who has passed Bsc Physics of any  University or institution in any state recognized by UGC or AICTE with a minimum of 55%’ marks is eligible for admission to M.Com. degree course. Relaxation in the requirement of minimum marks upto 5% for OBC/OEC is applicable. SC/ST candidates need get only a pass in their qualifying examination for admission (U.O. No. GA I/J 2124/03 dated 22.07.2004)
  10. M.A Economics:BA Degree of this University with Economics/Foreign Trade/Development Economics (Main) or equivalent degree with at least 45% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries).OR B Sc Degree of this University with Statistics/Mathematics (Main) or equivalent degree with at least 70% marks for Part III (excluding  subsidiaries).OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
